Opinion for this book. I liked the storyline and loved that we were able to see from both sides....but that's where it ends. I had hard time following along about 45% into the story. And by the end of the story I was not surprised....why you may say....well it felt like the author had left some holes and by the time the epilogue popped it and stated two months later and than goes into being a flashback without warning I decided that I can't recommend this book in good faith to me smut ebook buddies....when the author blends the present and than talks about the living situation and than goes back in time and then goes back to two months later .... I I didn't know if I was coming or leaving in the book.If the author can fill in the holes to the story than I think I would recommend the story. Additionally, the author needs to learn how to make the timeline flow straight...not like ping pong match.....
I have this opinion of the book and when I discussed this with another person who had purchased the book....they had no idea what I was talking about till I had to point to specific pages/locations.....so maybe it is my ebook or my imagination.... And I am doubting that either one applies. Sorry...

Sloan Holden is one of the best 'players' I read lately. I love his thoughts and thankfully, we get some chapters with nothing but his wayward thinking. He loves sex.....period. He doesn't seem to care much about the women who provide it for him and cares mainly that he gets the sex he craves. In many romance novels this type of guy is usually painted as a louse and ends up the bad guy. Not Sloan Holden. There is just something so magnetic about him that the reader wants him to somehow find that special woman that'll turn him into a one woman man.
Enter Aston Boyd. She's absolutely gorgeous (of course!). She has it all going on; career, wardrobe, house with pool, long blonde hair, tall-model like body, and a BMW, to boot (although the BMW is provided via her work and isn't hers but hers to use as long as she's with the company). She's also into designer shoes, labels, etc. This reader isn't much into all the designer stuff and I just skim through what I don't have interest in. Let's just say that Aston likes her 'stuff' with labels on them.
Once Sloan gets a good look at Aston; he MUST have her and he practically becomes a stalker in order to get up close and personal. Since Aston is free and looking it doesn't take that much work for Sloan to get her interested. Who wouldn't be interested......Sloan is a handsome, tall, rich, and sexual. I'd have to say however, that Aston is the female version of Sloan in so many ways. Turns out Aston is Sloan's match. She's actually savvy to his type of man and in truth she can be just as much a 'player' except she doesn't just get sex for sex sake. She's particular and therefore doesn't get an overabundance of action. She can also put away a good amount of liquor before becoming stupid. For the intelligent woman that Aston is built-up to be she did have her human shortcomings; especially how she acted with the ex-boyfriend/fiance. I did appreciate that once she'd finally decided to be rid of the ex....she was over him and showed him the door.
Yes; Aston and Sloan hook-up. It's HOT, explosive, and this reader was left with a steaming ebook reader. I got the feeling that both Sloan and Aston didn't see it coming and fought it with valiant efforts, before realizing they'd falling in love. I enjoyed their way of working through their emotions. This reader was left wanting MORE and what's better than that for a writer, than leaving the reader craving more......

I am a huge fan of Amanda Bennett's work. I loved the Broken Series, and I was really looking forward to reading Misguided Heart. This book showed me a new side of her writing. Misguided Heart was sassy, steamy and sexy!
Aston Boyd has just achieved a dream job as editor of a huge publishing house in Arizona. Her hard work and determination finally paid off. Aston had pushed love aside to reach her goals. She had been burned before, and she just wasn't ready to take the leap, so she engrossed herself if working her way up the corporate ladder. Well, she thought she was pushing love aside until she received and invitation to Nole's wedding. Nole was her first love.
Sloan Holden is the typical sexy bad boy underneath the suit that he wears to cover up and fit into his father's publishing company. He has a motorcycle, tattoos and is a womanizer. Sloan is trying to prove to his father that he can take over the family business and head up the expanding branch of the company in New York. Sloan doesn't want a relationship, and is protecting his heart.
Sloan sets his sights on Aston. He just wants to have her. Aston needs a date to Nole's wedding to show him what he's missing. Sloan is just the man for the job. She wants Nole back, or at least she thinks she does.
Sloan and Aston end up having a mind-blowing night together and can't seem to get enough of each other afterwards. Aston becomes torn between what she thought her heart wanted and what her body craves. Sloan tries to fight his growing feelings towards Aston because he's had his heart shredded before.
Add in a fun and feisty best friend, and some more sexy men to the mix, and Misguided Heart will keep you turning the pages for more!
I really liked that this book was written with dual POV's. I like being able to read the situations from both perspectives. I feel it gives the reader more insight into how the characters are feeling and experiencing everything.
I look forward to reading more of Amanda Bennett's books, especially if they are as steamy and fun as Misguided Heart!
